Networking Video Summary 3/28

While watching the video on network topologies I learned a lot! I learned that there are different types of typologies, one being the star, in this typology all computers are connected to a hub or switch and they go through and what is interesting is if one computer has an error the others do not but if the hub fails then all computers would fail. The next type is a ring, all the computers are set up in a ring and all the computers have two neighbors and it is a very old form of typology, because of the fact that these computers are all in a loop it is more likely if one computer fails, they all fail. The next type is bus, its also an old version, all the computers are connected by one cable and it is a cheap way of typology but both ends must have terminators. Next, we have mesh, mesh has four computers and they just bounce off each other, but they are expensive so not many use them. Infrastructure, what a lot of us are mostly familiar with is our wireless connecter for our internet, with this you can have multiple wireless devices connected. Ad hoc, ad hoc connects to other devices, we are also familiar to this one, devices can share data without having a wire. Lastly wireless mesh, it’s also something that were used to, its multiple devices that are placed around to allow access to networking, one modem has to be connected to a switch and then you’ll be able to have a seamless internet connection from there.
