Digital Citizenship 04/17

    1. What are the digital citizenship “do’s” that Richard Culatta lists at the beginning of his presentation?

To use it to make your community better, respect debate, shape public policy and recognize the validity of online sources.

    1. “Our ability to recognize truth from fiction are essential to our survival in society”, according to Richard Culatta. What are your personal thoughts about today’s expression: “fake news”?

I think that personally for me fake news is detectable, Its very important to be taught how to detect fake news because it could put your safety, money, and etc. in danger so I completely agree with Richard!

    1. What are your thoughts about the posting from Kristen Lane wanting to sell her prom dress?

I think that what she went through was horrible, I think that no one should have to deal with what Kristen Lane had to go through. The person that chose to be a good digital citizen changed that girl’s whole life around and just with the tiniest of effort and that to me is beautiful! Why be hateful towards someone that you don’t know anything about, be true to yourself and maybe others will follow along and do their part.

    1. What one thing you are willing to do to promote digital citizenship this year?

Personally I already do this a lot, we live in a world that’s surrounded by social media and everyone’s eyes are on everyone so something that I like to do is just reaching out to a random person (also being carful and making sure that I’m staying safe) and just tell them something that will make them feel good and feel valid and just not feel alone because you never know what someone is going through and you never know if that message could be the thing that saves them, I just try to do what I wish others would do for me.
