Networking Video Summary 3/28

While watching the video on network topologies I learned a lot! I learned that there are different types of typologies, one being the star, in this typology all computers are connected to a hub or switch and they go through and what is interesting is if one computer has an error the others do not but if the hub fails then all computers would fail. The next type is a ring, all the computers are set up in a ring and all the computers have two neighbors and it is a very old form of typology, because of the fact that these computers are all in a loop it is more likely if one computer fails, they all fail. The next type is bus, its also an old version, all the computers are connected by one cable and it is a cheap way of typology but both ends must have terminators. Next, we have mesh, mesh has four computers and they just bounce off each other, but they are expensive so not many use them. Infrastructure, what a lot of us are mostly familiar with is our wireless co...

Package Video Paragraph 3/28

While watching the videos I learned a lot about packet switching. I learned the process on packet switching, each package can contain a certain amount of information and then is labeled with an address, later the package is sent where needed. Another machine that is useful is the router switch, this machine also helps sort out the packages and then once they arrive, they’re picked up, a URL is made and then sent to the internet, some do not cross the process because they may be inappropriate and are destroyed. Then packages are then sent through the firewall and then they’re back to sorting and then they’re finally able to enter the internet!

MGT 216 Midterm

MGT 216 Midterm   2.  Personally I think that the apps I use the most are entertainment apps so those being apps like Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, things like that. What I learned from the video in regard to identity theft is that just in the US alone 10 million people fell to ID theft in 2009, it’s been a huge problem worldwide and apparently is getting worse. According to the video because fact that we use this 9-digit number, and it is our identifier for many things it builds up and essentially gets out there that anyone can really get it if they tried. Somethings we could do to protect our data is I think just being more careful and like they said just be more cautious, like at times people are just waving their cards around not really thinking anything of it but there’s malicious people out there that will take advantage so overall I think just being extra safe and doing extra research on things before inserting personal information.   3.  ...

03/07/2021 Hub, Router, Switch

What is a Hub? A Hub is a device that's used to connect all the network devices. What is a Router? A Router is a device that routs data from one network to another and helps determine which data is meant for which network. What is a Switch? A Switch is a device that has several ports that allows internet connection from other devices, its very similar to a Hub but a switch is smarter. The switch detects the addresses of the devices that are connected and it keeps them stored. Complete these sentences: Hubs and Switches are used to: Exchange data within a local network.__________ Routers are used to: Determine which data is meant for which network.________
